The Mediterranean horse mackerel, Trachurus mediterraneus is a species of mackerel in the family Carangidae. The Mediterranean horse mackerel can be found in the Eastern Atlantic from Bay of Biscay to Mauritania, including the Mediterranean Sea. In the Black Sea and Sea of Marmara it is presented by subspecies Trachurus mediterraneus ponticus. Bentho-pelagic subtropical marine fish, up to 60 cm length. Commercial species.
